How Do I Meet People?
Journey of Hope Community Church is not a place for spectators. It is a place for team members. Whether you are a five-year old child, a ninety-five year old grandmother, a busy mom, or a businessman with big responsibilities, we want you to be a part of our vibrant church community. The most obvious way to meet people is to attend the Sunday services and be friendly but here are a few suggestions on how you can learn, serve, and grow at Journey of Hope Community.
Small Group
Often, small groups of people are better able to interact and learn about a topic or participate in an activity than larger groups are. For that reason, Journey of Hope has small bible studies and support groups throughout the week. The size of the group is anywhere from six to twelve. At a time, designated by your group, you can participate in one of the small group studies or activities.
Celebrate Support Group
Every Thursday at 7 pm the Journey of Hope Celebrate group meets to share, sing and enjoy refreshments together. If you need a group to support you through life this is a group that we think you will enjoy. It is led by Mr. Ron Williams and it helps people as they Journey through life to have the hope that we proclaim.
Children and Youth Ministry
Each Sunday morning, children get to participate in their own classes during the 11 am Worship Service. Bible lessons are taught in such a way that every child gets to participate and learn. Each of the class teachers is carefully screened and thoroughly trained in children’s instruction. We also have a Wednesday Family Night. The kick off for Family Night is September 14th with an all church Pizza Party. On Wednesday nights we have an Adult Bible Study, a Grade School Midweek Club Activity and our Youth Group that meet at 6:30 pm. The youth ministry of Journey of Hope is recognized for their close family like interaction. Each month we will, on the second Wednesday Night, gather together as a church for a half hour of snacks and FUN.
Young Adults
Life can get complicated once you cross that nebulous threshold into adulthood. There are complicated decisions. Bigger stakes. Serious relationships. And a whole lot more decisions. The young adult group of Journey of Hope provides a welcoming atmosphere for college and early-career aged young people.
Women’s Group
Journey of Hope gives the ladies in our church family special times of interaction. Our women’s group, meet at various times for various activities like scrap-booking, card making, stamping and special fellowship times. These groups provide a refreshing opportunity to invite others and is also an excellent discipleship opportunity for the women in the church.
Men’s Group
The men meet monthly for a Breakfast at an area Coney Island. The men also meet for various outings, sporting events and retreats. Journey of Hope gives our men an excellent opportunity to do life together.
Primetimers
Once you get past the college and career age the fun has just begin. Whether retired, just plain tired, or active as ever, the Primetimers group of Journey of Hope Community Church provides refreshment, ministry, and times of valuable interaction. They eat together, pray together, play together, travel together and more. If you are out of the College and Career age group, this group is for you.
